RGA is seeking a Senior Underwriting Consultant for a 12 month maternity leave contract to join our market leading team in Wellington or Auckland. This is an exciting time and a challenging role as RGA leads the industry in delivering exceptional client focus and innovative underwriting solutions. Building strong partnerships with our clients, you will use your extensive experience to deliver consistent, timely and considered underwriting decisions in line with RGA’s risk management philosophy. You will also have the opportunity to further demonstrate your expertise through delivery of client training, presentations and contributing to RGA’s underwriting quality assurance program.

To be successful in this challenging role, you will have:

  • Significant technical life insurance underwriting experience in a reinsurance or high volume
    retail insurance environment
  • Relevant industry qualifications and demonstrated ongoing professional development
  • Related Bachelor’s degree or similar qualification will be highly regarded

Successful candidates will be:

  • Highly motivated and proactive
  • Able to demonstrate significant experience underwriting large sum assured and technically complex cases
  • Able to demonstrate sound understanding of key industry trends and their application to prudent risk management
  • Highly client focused and an excellent communicator
